![]() The Building Michigan Together Plan is a historic step forward that will fund the Michigan High Speed Internet Office we established last year and help us connect tens of thousands of families and small businesses in communities across Michigan. “By expanding access to affordable, accessible high-speed internet, we can grow our economy, better educate our kids, and improve healthcare outcomes. “As a former computer engineer and software developer, I know how important access to high-speed internet can be for our communities,” said Lt. It is a testament to what is possible when we put Michiganders first.” “This plan makes bold, bipartisan investments in the kitchen-table issues that matter most to Michigan families, including clean water, smooth roads, fast internet, and beautiful parks, and will set up Michigan’s economy for decades of success. Both housing and high-speed internet form the foundation for economic success, and I am so proud that the Michigan Legislature and I were able to come together to invest in both through the Building Michigan Together Plan,” said Governor Whitmer. “Every Michigander deserves an affordable, attainable place to call home and fast, reliable connection to high-speed internet. The plan will make significant investments in affordable, attainable housing and expand access to reliable high-speed internet, building on progress achieved since Governor Whitmer took office. In 2022, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the Building Michigan Together plan into law, which will invest nearly $5 billion in bipartisan investments to benefit residents by growing the economy, improving infrastructure, supporting jobs, and investing in every region of the state. It includes $6.3 billion for state and local roads, bridges, airports, transit, and rail programs.

Some prefer to use Microsoft Word templates so that it’s easy to add new pages to the course skeleton and make quick edits to previously created thumbnails. You can create simple image blocks or detailed spreadsheets depending on how detailed you want your course storyboard to be. Eventually, the project is delivered faster and at a reduced cost due to the time saved and the use of essential-only learning content. 9Save time, money, and effortĬreating a storyboard may take some time, but what about reiterations? Or confusion among collaborators?Ĭreating a storyboard actually saves you a tremendous amount of time, unnecessary back-and-forths among team members, and costly do-overs. Your target audience will see precisely how an eLearning developer will present the course material and whether primary learning objectives are being met through the outlined learning activities. It is advisable to share your eLearning storyboard while selling your course. You can agree upon any changes you want to make before the development phase! 8Sell the course more effectively to potential customers You will all have a clearer picture of what the course will contain before you actually start working on it. Using course storyboards allows you to work towards meeting the same goals with the co-instructors, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other team members. A few months down the line, did you know that a storyboard can help you update the course? Simply pick up the latest version of the storyboard, see where you need to make changes, and update the course without errors and version issues. So, you’ve deployed your course, and learners are joining and completing their learning. 6Easily update your course at a later time Storyboards in eLearning help put the learning experience first and visual design second. Storyboarding helps ensure content focuses on your set objectives before any cutting-edge art or character design takes over the production schedule. ![]() The design is nothing without meeting effective learning objectives. How many pictures or other media do you have to buy? How many videos should you produce? Will you need to hire a graphic designer or voice-over actors? You can then inform all stakeholders and decide together about the final budget and how you’ll proceed. 4Estimate your course budgetĪ storyboard helps you understand what the final product will look like and what you need to invest in to get there. Storyboards give you a concrete idea of how the course flows and how learners will navigate through it. They contain detailed information about which visual elements will be used, which elements will be clickable, and more. 3Control the learning experience you provideĬourse storyboards serve as the blueprint of how you have envisioned each section screen by screen. Are the media complementing the text content well? Will they help learners achieve the learning objectives? During the storyboarding, you can better understand what the course will look like and assess whether the media adequately supports the key course ideas. Getting the most relevant and appropriate pictures/videos into the course is essential. Detecting these mistakes early on saves a lot of effort and cost that could disrupt the implementation phase. Also, during the storyboarding phase, you’ll identify errors related to narration, media, and other similar details. 1Determine if the course’s concept worksĪ storyboard helps you validate whether the main idea is working and determine the direction the online course will take. So, imagine what a life-saver an effective storyboard would be!įollowing, we’ll explore nine key areas where storyboards are helpful. Instructional design storyboards are designed to elaborately flesh out your course from start to finish, including all the technical details you’re most likely to overlook among the chaos of an eLearning project. Your units don’t transition well you keep forgetting what is supposed to link where, and you find yourself spending a lot of time trying to edit disorganized eLearning content within your eLearning authoring tool or course platform.Īlso, keep in mind that a course outline is not a placeholder for a storyboard. ![]() Getting sucked into a minefield of structural issues while writing your course is easy. Why You Should Start StoryboardingĮLearning design isn’t a walk in the park. When you see your course’s “storyline” mapped out, you’re more in control of the design process: you’re better able to put each component in the right place and create a practical course. So, eLearning storyboards are detailed maps that represent course content and give an overview of the “story” someone tells. ![]() I found a tool that I will use at work as well, I'm so glad I spent some time on this. I don't think anyone will disagree that free RAM is a good thing. I have confidence that this tool will only help you. I only have 8GB RAM so memory use is important to me too. BTW I used these tools for this test: Sysinternals RamMap, WIndows Paint for pix, Memory Optimizer. Memory Optimizer is one of the best RAM optimizers for Windows 7/8/ 10. Maybe there are tools out there that can. I wish MO showed graphically how fragged the RAM actually is and what it looks like after instead of that dumb circly thingo. Snake oil? Do I have the fundamental understanding that the RAM can get fragmented? Does this indeed cause malfunction? If the RAM is kept tidy, is there less of a chance of this happening? I say yes. Or it could oversteps its bounds if poorly coded and that causes all sorts of malfunctions, (0xc0000005 errors for example). This allocated memory can become chopped up into small segments over time, sometimes too small to use so when a program needs a block of memory for some more data it cannot find a chunk big enough to continue. Each program has memory assigned (allocated) to it that it, and only it, can use. What the program does is de-fragment your RAM. BTW, I run it right after Arma is loaded and the launcher closes and has released it's memory back to the system. I use it whenever I please, even when Arma is running, between scenarios, etc. I don't think Memory Optimizer helped but I still use it because I understand the premise of fragmented RAM. Wise Memory Optimizer automatically calculates and displays the In Use, Available and total memory of your computer upon deployment, along with a pie chart. Perhaps BI fixed the bug that was killing my instances. Yeah, I suggested it only because I have tried it to overcome the 0xc0000005 errors (memory access violation) I was getting constantly. ![]() As players set out on a journey to reclaim Leo’s memories, they will unravel the mysteries of the bizarre mechanical infection slowly engulfing all that is known to mankind. The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut fans have sided with two of the biggest names (Batman and Superman) in superhero culture, and a director known for ultra-stylized filmmaking. Perhaps the most surprising element of The Shawshank Redemption 's continued fame is that it's not the flashiest film to have amassed a passionate fanbase online. As Bob Gunton (who plays the sadistic warden of Shawshank Prison) said during the film's 20th-anniversary coverage, he gets residuals even now for the film by the film's tenth anniversary, those residuals neared six figures. The film's undeniable popularity has translated to a genuinely solid paycheck for even its supporting actors. ![]() In 2013, according to a research firm, the film took up more than 150 hours of airtime, tying Scarface and coming in right behind Mrs. The film was "inducted" into the New Classics series on TNT soon after it began airing on the network, and has since become as much a staple as any other film you could think of. There was a time in the late 1990s and early 2000s when it felt as if The Shawshank Redemption was airing on TNT or TBS (another cable network owned by Turner) basically all the time. In an era before streaming, this was perhaps the most important way for the film's life to be extended and expanded. Two years later, the film's broadcast rights were snatched up by TNT - unsurprising, as the cable network was owned at the time by Ted Turner, the same man whose company had, in 1993, bought Castle Rock Entertainment, which produced Shawshank. essentially force-fed the film to the masses, and Shawshank became one of the top-selling VHS titles of 1995. At the time, that amount was high - especially since the film itself didn't seem to merit such an amount of home media. Despite its weak box office, Warner Bros., which was in charge of the film's home-media strategy, ordered more than 300,000 VHS copies to video stores across the country. For Shawshank, the road to becoming one of the top films of all time (at least according to some swathes of the Internet) was related to two key things: video rentals and cable-TV airings. In 2019, it may be hard to imagine a prison drama being released, getting a tepid box-office reaction in spite of Oscar nominations, and eventually becoming one of the most beloved films of all time. But its true rise to fame began soon after. Though the film didn't win any Oscars, the nominations themselves seemed like a big enough victory. Despite its weak showing at the box office, Shawshank received seven Academy Award nominations, including one for Best Picture. Perhaps it's fitting that a film with the word "redemption" in the title was itself redeemed over time, getting a second life after its theatrical release. At first glance, Shawshank was a mild flop, in spite of its positive reviews. All of these details are likely why, when The Shawshank Redemption left theaters in November of 1994, it had only grossed $16 million domestically against a budget of $25 million. Shawshank was from a first-time feature director, Frank Darabont it was released through the mid-tier studio Castle Rock and it had the misfortune to open in the fall of 1994 opposite the much buzzier and instantly-beloved film Pulp Fiction. Shawshank was a film with an almost entirely all-male cast, led by two well-respected actors, Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, who were not known as box-office smashes. However, the long-titled story of an aloof banker serving a double-murder sentence in a New England prison, all while maintaining his innocence, didn't automatically sound like a story from the guy behind Cujo and The Shining. On one hand, it was based on a story from one of the most famous living writers. Shawshank, an adaptation of the Stephen King short story "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption," was not the kind of film that felt like a home-run from the outside in. ![]() Today marks the 25th anniversary of a film that, when it was released, didn't seem like it was going to find its way onto a lot of people's lists of the best films ever made, let alone as the best ever. ![]() Otherwise, Macro Recorder may abort the image area analysis with a hint that the image area is not unique for example, SmartClick is not suitable to click anywhere in the middle of a large monochrome area.
